Hyperhidrosis

Many Americans have a medical condition named severe primary axillary hyperhidrosis better known to you as severe underarm sweating. Many Americans have a medical condition named severe primary axillary hyperhidrosis better known to you as severe underarm sweating.

How is Hyperhidrosis different from regular sweating?

While people with severe underarm sweating may choose many different antiperspirants, in some instances those products do not work well enough for their sweating. Clothes can be a real issue, because the wrong choice can reveal your severe underarm sweating condition rather than hide it. Your wardrobe can be very limited and you may have to purchase new clothing frequently.

If you do this..

People who suffer from Hyperhidrosis often have these conditions

  • Change clothing frequently
  • Put absorbent materials under your clothing
  • Seek medical attention and treatment
  • Avoid certain fabrics and styles of clothes

Why Botox?

BOTOX® (onbotulinumtoxinA) can be injected into the skin to possibly help the symptoms of severe underarm sweating (severe primary axillary hyperhidrosis) when medicines used on the skin (topical) do not work well enough in people 18 years and older.

BOTOX® neurotoxin treatment can help control the symptoms of severe underarm sweating when topical medicines do not work well enough by temporarily blocking the chemical signals from the nerves that stimulate the sweat glands.

When the sweat glands don’t receive chemical signals, the severe sweating can decrease. BOTOX® injections are expected to temporarily freeze the production of excessive sweat in the treated areas only. Sweat can continue to be produced elsewhere.
